But the combination of both, poor tenant selection, turnover, higher than expected maintenance costs (especially make-ready costs) really made PMs a liability rather than an asset.Like more things, nobody is more interested in taking good care of your property than the owner (YOU!)

There are all sorts of nasty tactics that are used to make a listing unviewable - the one mentioned in the OP, the removal of the key from the lockbox, changing the lockbox combination, etc.
