As a result, I turned to building a lot of the furniture myself (dining table, night stands, coffee table, and console table for kitchenette) using tools and wood from Home Depot.

It rented out in 5 minutes and I sleep good at night knowing every single thing is brand new.

AirBnB automatically charges our guests their occupancy tax and that tax is on both the nightly rate and the cleaning fee. 

I really want to check one out but most of them are in the evenings and I work at nights.

I figured it’s better to have all my ducks in a row before I dive in and have to back track.I haven’t even gotten pre approved as I would have to do a loan to get started.  

The way we see it, if no one shows up, its our monthly date night with some wine!

I was drawn to Havasu for the potential to operate as a short term vacation rental during the summer with higher nightly rates, and also as a month to month rental during the winter for more consistent income.

It allows you to play around with average nightly or weekly rent rates and number of weeks rented so you can find your break even or estimated profit. 

Of course, a bit of fear lingers regardless of my strong determination to dive in as soon as I can.
