Is incorporating my business a natural first step before I look into actually buying a rental property from a personal liability perspective?

Not sure about their requirement that I incorporate.

Robert,If I can figure out a way to incorporate the lawn care into the rent here in Florida, I do it!

What trips people up is the, probably pretty true, narrative of using wealth to influence politics to create an unfair playing field.  

There is a false narrative out there that "anyone can manage their own properties".

I think is just  perception. but in all honesty this post has made me realize that we should push and be a great examples in our communities and disrupt the narrative that been a landlord does not equal oppressions or non cooperative hierarchy .

Even better if they have experience working with investors that have similar goals and strategies that you want to incorporate.
