One of these was offered to us essentially for free, but it would take half-a-million to update the property(energy efficiency, modern electrical and plumbing, etc) yet retain its 1880s majesty ... we would need to cut it into three ~1600 sq ft units (one per floor), but would need to be able to sell them for ~300K to make the project worth while ... the market just isn't there at this time.

I worked at a university for a few years, and my other half went to university and rented in a smallish town with *lots* of student housing rentals.If a rental property you're thinking about buying is immediately adjacent to land the university owns, even if it's just a vacant lot, it might be worthwhile to ask the university about their expansion plans. 

Might be worthwhile to catch up so I have an accountability partner for taking the classes.Are you doing Champions? 

Its not easy to actually get any money but with $10K on the line, it would be worth while. 

Many of them have never even stepped foot into their properties.It's certainly worthwhile, even if you just pick up a few units initially.

Just the possibility that the market gets back there along with the cashflow makes these a worthwhile investment for me.

hi all,i am new to this site and also to rei. i have been immersing myself in information and educational materials about different aspects and types of rei, and came across yet another "product" that may be worthwhile. i already have spend quite a bit of money on education, and although i did and am learning from it, it certainly wasn't worth the exorbitant cost so now i am extremely cautious about educational materials.anyway, i have been reading about "al aiello's goldmine and 1031 exchange" tax program that seems to be advertised around the web for $897/997.

I still wonder if it is worthwhile to take advanced courses.
