I can't say that I have seen anything that will top someone using old carpet out of their own home, but I have seen a lot of cheap work done by people with no construction knowledge.In the shows defense, they don't always film the idiots.

we used to just do residential loans but my eyes and the owners eyes were always looking at bigger and better things.well we started doing international project funding for construction projects such as hotels, casinos, and condo developments (and of course the raw land projects in costa rica everyone seems to love).a few months ago my boss got rid of our residential side and now it is just the two of us.

It is all about doing RE deals part time on the weekend as your JOB keeps you from looking much during the week.An alternative is to focus on new construction where you find a project or to focus on deals with a local partner.
