This is the strategy I used when first getting started and I was introduced to my mentor who freely shared all of his contacts with me and made introductions vouching for me.

I would encourage you to do more research before jumping into this or be mentored by an expert because if you don't know what you're doing, you could easily lose your shirt. 

if you want to learn about REI i have about 15 podcasts that i listen to every week. if you’re hooked on something more structured you could even just buy the real estate agent course books if you think they may add value. lastly i think your money would be even better spent on paying a mentor to teach you or even taking a guru’s class, which kind of makes me cringe to be honest. however, i will say, at least when i took the real estate agent course, there was very little on actual investing.

Also if someone is close that likes coffee would like to sit down, have a cup of mud and potentially be a mentor/ advisor.

However, my advice would be to know your state's laws and to find a mentor who is doing it legally and successfully and learn from them.

When I did my first couple of deals my dad helped mentor and guide me through the first couple of deal.

I've been interested in REI for a few years, listening to podcasts, reading books, talking to mentors and finally decided multi-family, in a strong cashflow market was where I wanted to start.

I'm currently staying in the Wierton Tri-state area in WV.I'm wondering if there's still investor meet ups or to be more precise, I'm looking for a mentor.

If anything find a local investor/agent/wholesaler who has buyers so you can just find sellers for them and they’ll help mentor you until you can build up a buyers list
