There is a way to do it that gets you great traction and learning and another way where you just spin your wheels and get nowhere.I see some new members grow and flourish and others flounder as they get frustrated and quit when they can't have things their way.

There is a current trend in the govt circles to downplay the "dream " of owning a home and planting seeds that "maybe renting is best" If this gains traction, your rents may stay high, but your re-sale values will be very stagnant, due to the new trend.

Just eager to find some traction.

While Craig's List appears to be the go to site in the US, as @Kyle J. pointed out, the best place to advertise depends on your market.Here, and in may other parts of Canada, Kijiji has far more traction than Criag's List ... though that may shift now with Kijiji's new policy on charging for more than X for rent ads and the amounts they are proposing to charge.

Saving and paying down my debt is my priority right now but I feel like I'm never going to get traction in REI.I have a VA loan available to me but I just started a new job so I don't have enough income history yet to be able to get it.

If we then get some traction (acceptance or a close counter) and investor #1 backs out, I have several more the deal might work for.  

In short, many of those Issuers have figured out how to cut costs (and features) from those issues and have gained some traction in the market place.

seem to be the ones getting the most traction BY FAR. 

The many new startup attempts at mimicking these real estate search engines haven’t appeared to gain much traction.
