Depending on the market that's usually the $350k to $800k range.I'm interested in any thoughts or stories or suggested markets to look at based on the above - my favorite location has just gotten too pricey with the housing rebound and isn't generating the returns I need.

It really depends on your strategy if it is buy and hold Pittsburgh is a great investment market but if you want to quickly flip some properties while it can be done in our market there are others out there where you can buy low and sell high on a larger level.I know two markets really well one being Pittsburgh since I sell and invest in this market the other being Phoenix because I used to live there, some of the homes there where selling for 300%+ more before the market hit rock bottom and it is a highly desirable area that I am sure will rebound big time.
