I am going through the exact same situation in Chicago; but our damage came from the main sewer line under our garden unit.

@Brionne Moss Maybe its too late at night....but I dont really follow what happened....

There is one that a local builder just finished here and it sold the first day one market.I'm really interested in combining green efficient housing with the storage unit concept and integrating some sort of home garden with the design, similar to how restaurants are growing their own greens.

I spoke with the listing agent and my findings are below as well.http://www.zillow.com/homedetails/11240-Garden-Blv...- It has been for over 60 days in the market- Bank lowered the price just yesterday- Comps from Zillow (similar sold houses) are all above 80K- Area does not seem great, that's why I'm mostly looking at selling it, not holding to it.Findings from listing agent:- It needs AC/heat unit- No idea of when the roof was replaced but it does not have signs of leaks- It might need some work inside, seems to have been a day-care before.

Charles line, garden district, up in the Marigny / south 7th ward, etc.

I am not a huge fan of garden apartments but this building is built out to have a legal basement with very good access and ceiling height so hate to waste that value add if we can contest or file a few documents and get a legal 4th unit.

I see your issue got resolved, but for the future, maybe live in the garden unit if there is one until they move?

So much deferred maintenance that there was actually holes in the walls and squirrels and critters were living in the home ala Grey Gardens.
