City Of Chicago Zoning Vs City Of Chicago Buildings Dept
Hello All, we have a multi that when we closed our zoning cert says "3" units but the building department says "4" units. Has anyone ever challenged this system or have an attorney you can refer me to help with something specific like this?
I am not a huge fan of garden apartments but this building is built out to have a legal basement with very good access and ceiling height so hate to waste that value add if we can contest or file a few documents and get a legal 4th unit.
I have been down the road of making an illegal basement into a legal one and it was expensive and didn't seem worth it but if this building is supposed to be four and somewhere documents were wrong then I would like to uncover that. Thanks all!
