They even preferred that bath over the one that had tub, with subway tile around the tub (rather than a plastic surround), and the main bath also had an upgraded maple vanity with granite counter top sink with matching mirror (floor was almost identical to the other bath).So the bath with more $$ into it got less bang than that cheaper powder room conversion - it's crazy, unpredictable and very hard to gauge what a buyer will be attracted to sometimes.

Flatbush is a huge neighborhood and some areas are prime (near subways, close to nicer neighborhoods) and some areas are not (no subway access, nowhere close to parks, etc).3/4/5) Out of state limits your appreciation potential and puts you at the mercy of PMs and you're never going to know the market as well as you know your home market.I also see what you're saying about scaling, but with properties, quality beats quantity.

While I'm excited about this, I really like the location and layout of my place - it's in a nice, quiet neighborhood close enough to the city but far enough so families are comfortable (Oak Park, IL) I'm right by the metra and 'L' (subway) which is fantastic for my commute to work.

It’s not too far from the subway (totally walkable).The upstairs 2 bedroom rents out for $2325 with a parking spot.The downstairs 1.5 bedroom rents out for $1830 (no parking).Both units have backyard access.
