Also, because of code issues, the unit can't rent as a larger 2 bdr. on two floors so is still a garage + studio/small 1bdr, so the whole point of a doing a larger rehab was pointless.

Taking partial payments BEFORE rent is due isn't an issue.

Are items like this significant issues that will limit your potential? 

I am just someone who would be willing to pay an extra $100 a year to not worry about a specific issue if offered.I will work to find out more. 

The issue I am having is that I am located in NY i.e. that is where my primary address is.

If I put the property in my personal name then its a non issue, but I can not find anyone to do specficly STR in a company name.Any help would be apprciated.ThanksMike
