Oil might get phased out one day, but no one has even thought of an alternative for building supplies, to replace lumber.If you want to look around Port, let me know, I'm a Realtor, we can look at some houses, I can even show you my property.As for distance investing, I have some in Prince George, and that's far enough away.

Keep kids and animals away from the house while scraping lead based paint.Also, if the paint that is currently on the walls is oil based, then you will want to prime them first with an oil based Kilz before painting with latex.

@Andrew Pappas  antidotal:  I had this experienceGuru try's to teach sandwhich lease options and how great they are.young group of investors here in pdx all charged up on Rich Dad Poor dad.. go out and talk about 35 homeowners into selling them their homes on contract with low to no down but full retail value.however they felt they could make about 200 a month delta by giving long term lease option to their buyers.. and if would work out the same in a wrap or CFD scenario  Well it all goes good for a while why they are stacking this up.. they get to 4 or 5k a month positive and thinking they just invented the next greatest thing in RE investing.well after a year or so the first few start to leak oil  IE tenant buyer stops paying.. for some reason they recorded the lease options...

For a long time I thought I would try to go back to corporate America (worked in finance for Oil & Gas company and in commercial banking), but I think an entreprenurial gig would be better with my main responsibilities as a Navy wife and mom.I think my education taught me how to juggle 20 different things at a time.

If not already treated, even some oil or deck treatment on the deck boards would maybe lessen the gap, plus it'll prolong the life of the deck.
