As an E-4 I get that you might not be able to stay off base (assuming you aren't on sea duty) but since you are married I believe you are permitted to stay off base, why not have your non-taxable BAH work for you in the form of a mortgage, or even get creative and get a VA loan, get a 4 plex, become a landlord and have that supplement your income, all the while using your BAH to cover your housing costs.

Instead, see if the lender will accept separate mortgages, cross-collateralize, and later permit you to sell one property and keep the mortgage on the other(s).

If not just get 1st. last and a juicy damage deposit (if permitted in your jurisdiction) Furnis cheaply if at all execpt fo low end appliances (not including small appliances i.e. toasters, mw's, etc.)

install a corner tub if space permits, remove the whole window and frame in the shower side and install a smaller window on the bath side and extend the shower section over to the new window. edited the picture isn't the best im not an artist or photo editor, but here it is..
