So if you move away and rent it for 2500 a month, you are now paying $1,500 a month out of your pocket in negative cashflow to keep an asset that is going down in value and in 20 years will be worth $0.

Good to have positive encouragement when there is a lot of negativity. 

The goal of this discussion is not to push any negativity among private lending operations that have started over the past few years.

It's certainly not going to help the real estate market, but that article doesn't provide any facts or statistics, just theories on what might happen to the real estate market.

I see this some time when looking at the state inventory and if the older certificate can redeem after they quit paying then this is a big, big negative.

It is likely negative, but if the loss is LESS than you currently pay in rent, you are still in a better position than today.
