I do some custom cabinet building and metalworking.Granted, a good amount of this is more about art and the fun of making stuff than making real estate $ for us,  but I tend to find quite a bit I can make money on hiding in the corners of the stuff we do together for fun.

They just had the right things wrong with the houses: old cabinets, olive green shag carpet, cat urine smell, 

As we've had turn over for each unit we've been painting, making repairs to things like cabinets and closets and also updating things like door handles and light fixtures along with other small expenses.
