Keep in mind any good plaintiff's attorney is going to bring all parties incidentally related to the legal claim in as an additional defendant.

Flip side though, any good contractor should have no issues having a full deep discussion with the how's and whys of any project.

One major advantage is liability protection, which shields your personal assets if any legal issues arise with the property.

Not sure if it is a scam or if it would pose potential safety/privacy issue.

The issue is scale.
