Many times a lender buys a property back at a sheriff's sale/auction where they are selling properties as part of a foreclosure.

Many people won't invest in funds, including myself, and those that do only invest with people that have a long track record. 

But, people will always be able to see the prior listing history under the Price History section of the listing.
