It helps keep cash in the bank in case there are any unforeseen catastrophes that crop up but for the most part, everything is done in cash.

Storms do happen though, and damage is suffered but it's not a catastrophe everytime...its just the price of endless summer down here to us.

It is never a good idea to make decisions in haste or in shadow of some imagined catastrophe.  

I lost 15k.. and wrote a post about it.. in the scope of my business this is a pimple on a pimple.. to others it could be catastrophic..

And they've had zero catastrophic housing busts in the last 10 years (or ever).  

Couple this with government programs that are also extra-market, and you get the makings of a catastrophe.

Australia for example implemented a larger tax for foreign investors and the results were not catastrophic. 

Without any catastrophe with Microsoft, Amazon or Boeing just don't see how a crash is possible.

So if I can get comfortable, knowledgeable and adept in a new market then that would open up more options for my investor partners as well. 3) We are ever so slightly shielded from some catastrophic event occurring in my primary market.
