I recommend white sheets and all white bedspreads that can be bleached, too.  

You want to be able to bleach them.

I get white so i can bleach them every time we wash them.

Wipe down with bleach to make sure, kiltz then re-paint. 

That reduces a lot of the operating cost.While the carpet cleaning does not take care of bleach and kool aid stains (if you get those), it at least lets you cut cost.

Bleach is not a good option,  mold could release spores once exposed  to bleach.

Bleach and elbow grease will probably take care of that (along with getting the water out, keeping it out, and maybe a couple of dehumidifiers).

They cleaned them with bleach and they clearly needed to be re-painted.

Once we got the padding up I saw how bad the wood was and tried cleaning it with bleach and a mop to get the smell out.
