I would recommend reading three pro articles and three con articles and cross reference between them to bypass bias.

I personally love the Killeen market and the surrounding area there was a lot of good info put in this form and I will say investors are scared of this market because the don't understand it everything is not numbers some investors who are here don't maintain rent rolls and you have a few that sell in a small circle so if you don't know people you will not know what's going on until you see new management signs I'm pretty biased when it comes to dealing in this market I feel like you should use an agent from it other wise you get agents from Houston trying to sale 5 acres for like 1.5mil in Waco (Just an example).

It's hard to know a good Realtor though for this type of thing, because they have a bias towards you buying anything so they get a commission.Another option is to find a local investor who has done this kind of thing before.

Yes, but I am biased, since I very much enjoy real estate, not only will you learn a tremendous amount, you will often have access to the best deals, before they even hit the market, due to other agents in your office or people coming to you for advice.

However, I'm admittedly biased.

There is no right or wrong, this was only my thought of MFH vs SFH and I'm sure many of the things I've said was just a personal preference and a certain bias I have but, you need to lay out all of the possibilities and make that choice that best fits yourself as an OOS investor. 

Of course there are a few excellent TK providers that could also guide you through, but you have to be careful as their advice may have some bias.

I have tried to buy in family neighborhoods, but I realize that my perspective is biased.
