A first-timer or unknown player wouldn't have been awarded the deal, they would have simply been outbid and then posted on BP that you can't find deals with this type of conservative underwriting! 

Since it's your first meeting - I recommend going there and just listen/get a feel for the group & the membersThings that should be going through your mind*who are the big players in the meeting?

Of course you want to learn and study for the test (it is pretty hard) but above all, if I was starting all over with my CCIM education, I would have prepared better by knowing exactly who I wanted in my circles in the coming years.You will meet some real players... the kind of players that make millions on a single deal.

Despite the fact that I own one the two biggest players in my mortgage niche, am the largest investor in the other company, I still know that financing is only part of the story. 

Even if they will only work for major players, find out who they recommend.Doing some of this will get you a list of the people doing the volume of landlord tenant work in your area.Best of luck...

There are several bigger players in the area but there are deals to be found if you are aggressively networking and building your team. 

Not to say that is an unfair requirement but I really wanted to meet more "players" to network as this is my 5-10 year gameplan

Their quote is fairly low compared to big players like AllState etc.

Also followed Ross's suggestion to look in zillow and google and try to figure out who are the main players in that area.
