There's no harm in working with the housing stock you have available.

I work as a contract pressure vessel, piping, and storage tank inspector at refineries, chemical plants, natural gas plants, or just about anywhere else there's a need throughout the US or world.

It doesn't protect against other individuals infringing on those rights.That being said, I echo the common sentiment that posting "no gun" signs makes you/your property a target, and people that would use a weapon to harm others without justification will possess them anyway. 

I know it is slightly unreasonable to request a perfect neighbor that adheres to all my neighborly preferences but the disruption to my sleep patterns are doing harm to my career and personal life.

There is no harm in trying out but you should never lose your job if brings your good income and build Social security and healthcare benefits for you.At this internet age, you can work from home and do multitasking, you shouldn't be losing your job for new venture.
