I'm a Registered Nurse in Portland, OR.

My wife discussed our plan to purchase our first single family rental property with her mother. 

These facilities are run under state supervision with frequent visits from health department, some sort of a nurse, helpers always available etc. 

Do you think renting this home to traveling nurses is a good idea?

My end goal is to eventually quit nursing and scale faster. 

Plus, I'm not in MD that much, I am a travel nurse and have been taking contracts outside of the state for a while now.

But an alternative to consider if the banks are making it difficult is to establish medium term leases (month to month lease) with traveling nurses or other work related travel.

@Tommy Panebianco Nobody really talks about the hybrid option which is doing the peak season as a STR then leasing it for offseason to a traveling nurse, business client, people looking to relocate in the offseason.

Transitioning to traveling professionals, traveling nurses, and possibly peer space event spaces are all good ways to make a killing in the short term rental space.
