Many investors want to invest in a specific property in a specific location - they prefer to know what they are buying as opposed to not knowing what specific properties they will own thru a REIT.At the end of the day, each investor needs to sort thru those issues for themselves.

If you are willing to have a remote CPA, you may find a more qualified real estate CPA as the location of your CPA is not as crucial as their experience with real estate. 

Your time is better spent now trying to figure out how to be exceptional enough in your craft (or move to correct location, or get a new job and renegotiate) to be able to get higher income.
