Prep work requires cleaning the cabinets and sanding lightly (don’t need to get down to raw wood).

But, there is nothing stopping anyone from building a relationship with their tenants, and that can bear fruit too.

If you don't think those types of issues would be there or a problem for your property, then I wouldn't worry about it.I only paid for a survey once, because it was raw land and I wanted to put up a fence next to an argumentative neighbor.

We were very interested in Canmore's market, but there were some hurdles and decided focus on lower hanging fruit.

Pursue the "low hanging fruit" for right now: buying a property for less than replacement cost, repositioning it for a resale profit or cash-flow.

I thought that was a bit of a raw deal.
