I recognize I'm still new to short term rentals and I'm still a relatively small investor too but I figure if I don't push myself to learn / try something new then no one else is going to do it for me. 

To offset gain recognized in a year solely attributable to depreciation taken in the same year doesn't strike me as much of a benefit.

Something I'm recognizing is how personal the decision is to form an LLC, increase insurance protection or some combination of the two. 

Beyond property tax rates, I have not recognized any different factors which could make one side of the river more appealing than the other but am still diving deep.  

It is in the well recognized 'Durango Dental Clinic' complex (six condos total).

Hey @Jennifer Weigel - Congrats on recognizing the need to make a switch. 

If you consistently analyze properties, it will be much easier to recognize a good deal when it shows up.

You will start getting recognized and your network will start to grow organically.
