We just replaced a garbage disposal in a rental property after the current tenant called to tell us it was making a grinding sound.  

If you are one of few rentals on the street, assure them that you plan on making sure the house and neighborhood are going to be treated well and you will have strict policies on excessive noise and parking.Invite the neighbors over as you are working on setting up your new place so they can see what the inside looks like and get to know what the status quo of the property should be so they will know when something isn’t right!

Can you afford to sue and fight the unconstutionality of this town bully when if your jealous nosey socialistic neighbors complain to him, town and police state on you, for working hours in town, other made up codes like noise pollution or too much activity, too bright lights  too tall ladder etcAre you going to continue to keep ball and chain around your neck for fear of master slave owner aka unvoted unapproved town position of person enforcing codes not laws ?

they do live upstairs so you have to expect some noise"or"We have notified them...it's not our fault"Just yesterday, my mother went up and complained.

At that rate it could take me 10 years of grinding it out to save for second property.

Blame the hotel owners all you want but this action was brought on by the massive amount of complaining neighbors who were suffering from the constant late night noise,overflowing trash cans,and parking situations caused by the occupants.The tourists would back to the homes after midnight and make a ton of noise or even throw all night parties keeping everyone awake.

I hope my thoughts are helping, if they are just adding noise, take them with a grain of salt.To your success!!

What solutions have members used in the past to lower noise between units?  

Next night tenant below called and their response: "We can't hear the noise from the street, there is nothing we can do." 

The kids and I were just finishing up our weekly laundry chores when we heard a loud noise and smelled smoke coming from the laundry room.
