These days, everybody and their mother give advice on anything that take their fancy whether they really know what they're talking about or not.

We have looked into homes nearby hospitals and universities, we thought that our target could be nurses or students ( i am not sure with college being virtual, if this will be a problem).

She was a single mother of three and was in the hospital with CoVID with her boyfriend babysitting her kids. 

My mother wants to quit-claim her house to me so she can obtain a reverse mortgage on another house. 

I'm not 100% sure of the neighborhood name honestly I'll get back to you on that one lol it is technically a sfh that has a 1b1b mother in law attached...

My wife and I are purchasing my mother in-laws home and we plan to eventually use it as a rental property.

With COVID, maybe sharing spaces(living rm, kitchen) isn't the best idea at the moment, but you could still accomplish this with a duplex/tri/quad or even a home with a finished basement/mother-in-law suite.Personally, I'd rather buy in suburbs than cities.

It never hurts to try and work something out that can help both parties, my mother would say to approach someone by saying, "I have a problem and was hoping you could help."

Buy SFR with an ADU or mother-in-law suite and rent one of them out.
