Are taxes extremely high compared to nearby homes, and can be protested and lowered?

Appraiser has it at $73K even though the market has it at more like $65K which is infuriating because I thought you can protest tax rate when you get the bill but they said it had to be back in April when I supposedly got a value notice and they cut you off at 30 days to protest, for no reason except for exactly what did happen to me, people who dont know any better then get cheated by ridiculous property tax that they are powerless to do anything about. 

It's a character trait and mindset of the shady with property IMO.Corporate slumlords are the worst and not on here sharing  They are also the biggest reason anti landlord laws get passed and tenant-minded protests erupt.

He was a nice guy, I was a nice guy, so we agreed on it.After several months of showing, about four, my agent protested that my tenant is wasting his time.

Neither of them I can protest because 1 of them I haven't yet closed on, and the PO didn't protest, and the other one I closed on it the day after they sent the notice of assessment to the PO....which he promptly trashed.
