It's an amazing market here with so much incoming growth due to population growth, job growth, and companies moving/developing here!

I live in a lower-income area, so I figure that the better tenants you will get with a safe house, the ongoing safety the tenants feel, and the lowered risk of a break-in (when occupied or vacant getting ready to lease), and reduced headaches/vacancy/potential damage are worth the marginal up-front cost of having it installed.

You’d get a consistent income which might bring you more income on a year to year basis than renting a room on Airbnb here and there.

Eventually we will pass that responsibility on to someone on our leadership team too.So the route we chose is definitely not passive, but it also made us more comfortable with the investment.

Agents on teams will get leads, learn the business and leverage the team for their higher income and future business success. 

That's the beauty of passive investing.

For $500K go buy another income producing asset to offset any losses you might have.

Financial freedom isn't simply about replacing your current income, because inflation continuously drives up prices, making a fixed income insufficient to maintain your standard of living.

But if your goal is to earn tax deferred income and appreciation you can pass to your heirs tax free you can accept less.
