I would assert that if you are in a position to reduce your monthly home spend, and buy a property as well to get tax benefits and potential long term equity, any cash that you can save is a positive.

If they have an issue with the landlord their only legal recourse is to file a Tenant Assertion and pay their full rent to the court, on-time, and then the court will decide what should happen.Regarding the towing, I bet if you ask about the policy the towing company probably puts a 24 hour warning on the car before towing, as long as it isn't parked in a illegal space like a yellow curb.
