Of course there are some nice parts of CA.

Even if the owner seems like a really nice person, they will micromanage the builder and not like the specs of the house the builder needs to do, and/or the timing in which the builder gets it done, etc. 

As those properties grow in value and become more and more desirable, you'll be building up a very nice nest egg that will pay off in spades 10 years from now, and you'll be making money all along the way.

But wouldn't it be nice if my room sharing thing worked out?

They plant flowers, keep the yard nice, and I really enjoy them.

Please stop asking us for "the best" zip codes to invest in.Detroit has around 183 Residential Neighborhoods - wouldn't it be nice if "some proprety mangagement company" Classified them all as A, B, C, or D on an interactive map that real estate investors could use to make better decisions?
