Bottom line - its kind of a street rat culture, lots of low-level hustler types who like to post checks to their social media, rent flashy apartments, and other silly stuff, but the good ones do well.  

While our techniques aren't flashy or sophisticated, they are effective.

Think simple and not “flashy”

I'm a pretty modest guy, not flashy at all.

Unfortunately it does have a negative connotation in folks minds which I had at first initially.To the original poster Jason - I will tell you this - do your homework when you pick a facility for your MIL - the big/flashy do not always give the best care - you can have all the amenities in the world but if you do not have happy staff, good management on site, and a host of other things in order your MIL will not receive the care she needs. 

And also think about book like The Millionaire Next Door that debunk myths about wealth in the US (a bit dated, but the book's data tells us someone like a landlord in the old pickup in overalls mowing the lawn at the duplexes may be your high net worth person in America; not the flashy professional investor guy in the high end luxury sedan with a Rolex).....

This area is slated for a whole new River Corridor development plan, with flashy new parks from the town and great plans for private sector development.This site has a MINIMUM recommended residential density of 17 dwelling units per acre x 1.4 = 24 units minimum.  

I know it doesn't sound so flashy, but I think it works the best.

I think people believe it more than something more flashy... like its from the actual owner of house. 

@Erik Stark I hear you 100%, I'm not one to run to the gurus and their flashy signs and promises of getting rich quick.
