Ultimately, it comes down to underwriting and the ability for the property, and you, to afford to pay the monthly expense of the loan. 

., or Boston, Philadelphia offers relatively affordable rent, or section 8 tenants, especially those who are relocating from more expensive areas. 

If you can afford it - sounds like the business in a box is pretty awesome but unfortunately at this time it is not in my budget.

Plenty of people in California look for more affordable opportnities out of state, so property management becomes key.

I wanted to start with a cheaper property I could reasonably afford and also learn from.

For affordable houses, efficiency is key.

The Northwest Side Preservation Ordinance, affecting certain Chicago neighborhoods, punishes owners of affordable housing, devalues their property, and makes it harder to invest in neighborhood housing.

I would suggest finding those who are doing direct mail to note owners and get assets they can't afford.
