Health to Wealth: My Transition from Stethoscopes to Real Estate Investing

I'm Jessica, born and raised in Rochester, NY, where I enjoyed playing soccer and lacrosse. I first pursued my studies in Nursing and Pre-Med at Monroe Community College and SUNY Brockport, with the intention of becoming an OR Nurse. As a born-again Christian, the Covid-19 restrictions/laws in 2020 and 2021 significantly impacted my education, preventing me from obtaining my Nursing degree. However, I believe this life-changing turn has been a blessing in disguise.

In 2022, I had the opportunity to work with a skilled entrepreneur and together, we grew multiple businesses in Excavation, General Contracting, Inground Pool Installations, and Real Estate. Our real estate portfolio included multiple Single Family Residential Flips, a commercial building (office/shop space), and a triplex in Canandaigua, NY. After three years of managing all businesses and properties, we built up our capital and transitioned into full-time investment in Multi-Family Commercial Units.

Since then, we moved to Nashville, TN, got engaged, and have two beautiful fur babies. We continue to manage properties and generate income from Upstate, NY, while also running a real estate syndication with deals and properties across the entire country. We've opened, DARKHORSE Investments, LLC, where we offer others the opportunity to partially own desirable multi-family properties in growing cities and communities. Our goal is to acquire an additional 200 units by the end of 2025 and connect with like-minded individuals passionate about real estate.

Outside of my professional endeavors, my interests and hobbies include weightlifting, off-roading, hunting/fishing, and searching for the next big deal.
