Cities like Copenhagen, Oslo, Amsterdam, Bangkok, etc. are much older than any here in North America and were created when transportation was much more primitive - 20 miles is a long way on foot.  

I also am familiar with Amsterdam and not sure what the attraction would be although your property itself is unique.  

There is a reason why, KLM is now doing direct flights to Amsterdam and Delta is direct to Paris.

I'll be repeating much of what I just put in my profile here, but here goes.I'm a real estate investor and software engineer currently living in Amsterdam, Netherlands.TBH, I'm just starting out investing in rental properties in and around Amsterdam but possibly next year, I expect to be relocating to Canada with my wife who is from Vancouver, BC.

To contextualise my purchase, I'm looking for a single or double room apartment in a fairly central part of Amsterdam.
