I honestly don’t have much experience in real estate but I was fortunate to inherit two residential properties that are currently being rented.

From a quick search, rents are around $1500/m.My wife and I are fortunate to be in good financial shape.

I am fortunate to interface with thousands of smart clients, CPAs, attorneys, etc that have great ideas. 

Fortunately, I made a deal and was able to get the remaining person out after he failed to pay rent, but I took a beating since I'm already cash flow negative on the property for various reasons.

While I'm fortunate to already have some great friends/mentors in the field, my hope is that BP can be a platform to expand my current network and to develop other strong relationships.  

I remember my first deal I had to sale everything to get into the deal and was fortunate not to loose my shirt. 

I've been fortunate to have great tenants, but not budgeting for those things is silly. 

Many of the richest people in the world/history have made their fortune in RE.

But fortunately again, the property manager should have contacts.  

I was lucky enough to be the investor chosen in Birmingham a couple of years ago to profile in BusinessWeek, Money, Fortune magazines.
