So I have two questions.1) One owner said that he had filed bankruptcy and the bank wasn't willing to work with him on the house.

We decided in 2011 to file bankruptcy and we vacated the property in February of 2011.

If I'm running an individual people search for "John Doe" looking up his full name, SSN, relatives, bankruptcies, judgements, liens, etc., how much could I potentially be looking at in terms of total costs?

Bankruptcy I don't recommend for beginners. 

One of the best is after the NTS, and after a motion for relief from bankruptcy stay.

If they have a history of evictions, bankruptcies, foreclosures, etc then they are high risk and not worth the trouble.
