True, but if a share drops and remains under for a year or more like STWD - its dead and non-performing money until it comes back up to cost price.I understand about the non-traded REITs that their underlying assets may lose value, though.That is one view of the asset; that STWD is a ticker symbol that moves up and down on a screen based on how many people buy or sell it.
