As a buyer, in a capitalistic society, you have the right to pay whatever you want for an item and as long as the seller and (in this case a) lender agree.I think banks and servicers are able to care of themselves.

or finance it...if you could afford to pay cash...maybe taking advantage of 0% finance is sensible for the person who could otherwise buy with cash.I think this society would be a lot better off if 18 year olds got a stamp on the back of their eyelids upon graduation that said - "Don't buy a new car" - 'Don't believe the security BS that you think you will have just cause you are making $400/month payments".Somewhere along the line people became incredibly optimistic (read in denial) about their personal finances.

For healthy adults, I don't believe in giveaways, period - I think a lot more has to be done to get to a system where those receiving aid are actually working on getting to the point where they are fully productive members of society - but kids are a different story.
