Yes, tech jobs played a role to a degree in San Fran, but NYC not quite sure.I would attribute the massively price appreciation more to international equity and housing markets after the recession.

Not necessarily condos as that might be typical.The reason is in any market that's not a favorable attribute and there isn't much you can do about it.

I attribute it to people moving out of state post pandemic (first-hand experience w/ move-out notices the last 30-60 days) and Owners getting greedy because the media is talking about rent increases.

:)While I agree that there are some major challenges that both the housing market and the U.S. economy as a whole faces over the next 10 years (and if not solved will result in a recession larger than the one we're currently in), I think we're going to see a recovery over the next 24-36 months.I attribute the October drop in the market to a couple things: seasonal downturn, expiration of various tax credits, increase in new housing starts in some areas, etc.
