Usually a couple of iron pipes driven into the ground....then you could sight down the line and get a decent idea.I think eventually you will need to get an official licensed survey to clear this up.

Also, in the right areas in Tampa it seems that a STR could be great, and my fiancé does have enough free time to cover the extra time-commitment a STR would require, that part wouldn’t bother us. 

Perhaps more common for a snow removal vendor as its usually a seasonal service paired with landscaping where employee relationships are more likely to exist.  

Usually the IRR in a DST is well north of 10%. 

@Gabe Knowles pretty much what @Travis Biziorek said.One of the best ways to succeed in this business is by hiring experts and learning from them so you can do it yourself the right way going forward.Trying to do it yourself and learn as you go, will usually cost you WAY MORE!

IF I'm going to make extra principal payments to pay off a "low(er)" interest rate mortgage early (compared to today's rates), my gut reaction would be to pay off the highest interest rate mortgage first.

That is usually around $100 per door.

In short, it cost us $50,000 extra - just to redo the windows(!!!!!!)

It sounds like you have a paying tenant where you occasionally make a little extra on with a late fee.

The rest of them have been slacking and usually 2-4 weeks late.
