I'm not sure where you're at, and if you live in the area you probably realize this, but close to downtown st Paul there are vastly different quality neighborhoods right next to each other. 

Their goal is to not find a buyer the best quality property to buy.

The issue I ran into was the materials that he wanted to use, didn’t always fit into my idea of the design or quality.

I find that, at least in my area, the older construction is of greater quality than new stuff.

Maintain your properties condition in line with the quality of tenants you want.  

Some are successful which is VERY dependent on the area if the country re quality of renters.  

If you weren't clear on your finishes, he may be assuming a much lower level of quality than you were.
