Buildium has integrated accounting software in addition to online rental applications, integrated tenant screening, e-leases,  online rent payment (with automated accounting) and (recently) cash payments via paynearme.

There are a number of ways to protect your assets, many of which you actually control (how well you maintain your properties, the tenants you place, the integrity with which you operate your business etc). 

My advice is to always work with integrity, do your due diligence, learn how to do your numbers correctly, and slowly but surely learn how to assign contracts using different strategies.  

From what I'm learning it seems that networking connections are also an integral part of this business so thank you for reaching out.
