@Michelle Nevarez, the most common way people get started is through house hacking.You could use your VA loan to buy a property for yourself to live in.  

I have specific credit cards set up for my cleaners, handymen, etc. so when I see a charge come through for that card I know exactly what it's for and what property it's associated with.

@Antonio Maria FarinhaIt's difficult to cash flow in NJ with condos that have high taxes and HOA fees.

We are currently working through town approvals on a small mixed use development.  

prices and rates are too high for most properties to cash flow. 

I have never purchased through one so I am looking for any ideas, suggestions, tips, etc.

I am going through the eviction of my tenant due to non-payment.We had the judgment pay and stay from the judge, but the tenant submitted an emergency appeal to the judgment. 

They would rather not go through the paperwork hassle of purchasing another house here themselves; they would prefer that my husband and I purchase a house in our name and they will rent it from us.
