What has been your experience with sites like this? 

FYI if you plan use a site like Home Advisor, they charge each contractor a sizable fee (usually 4 companies) to get your info.

I tried to find any site of law but couldn't find it, are we responsible for this ?

I think I remember a podcasts where they discussed a site called yellowletters.com.

I see that I was wrong on the Sec 121 exemption for the deceased spouse; upon further research, it looks like there is still some benefit, but that its a bit more complicated to calculate.The 1031 exchange sounds more interesting than I realized.
