Agreed with Bryan...Depending on the size of the room, you may even be able to just frame and sheetrock a small wall to cut off that corner and hide the fireplace.

I have heard that they are so busy that they aren't pursuing these kind of people.Joe could just go and get mortgages on these properties and hide the money under his mattress.Then what can the bank do?

So for those of you that are looking into the PLOCs, just make sure to check and read the contract documents carefully, the banks will cleverly hide this 2% minimum rate on all the other documents. 

in the trustee sale business this is fairly common one spouse hiding the fact they are losing the house from the other till  its gone. 

Tenants you store cash in their mattress may be hiding from collectors/debts...or just not have enough money/reserves to justify a formal account!!

However,  I did not plan to hide the fact that I am investing.

Furthmore, if this investment property is ever audited it will look as if I'm hiding income..
