I haven't confirmed this but I don't think they allow subdividing the lot (unlike with L zoned properties like the duplex I sold recently which is destined to become four townhouses on individual postage stamp lots)  - this might be the saving grace that prevents everything from getting mowed down,   though anybody looking for a starter house or fixer upper is now going to be competing with investors wanting to convert the place to a triplex.

I stumbled across this forum did some cruising around and really like what i see.

I've seen a bunch of info for vacation/destination rentals but nothing for metro areas.

Do I have any options or am I destined to be on the losing position?

I know the destination, now I'm just trying to map my course to get there.

I'm currently working on quite a bit right now but would like to create a plan with a real path to purchasing my first STR in 12 months.So for you experienced players out there, what you say to me (STR newbie) if i said i want to build a few STRs in different markets for my family and me to visit as awesome vacay destinations?

Just in general, I think Crested Butte has been discovered and is going to continue to be a destination for people coming to Colorado.

Walk on the boardwalk, or drive around the city - and you’ll see (and feel) that much has to be done, before it becomes a true destination place. 

There is still room to run as it is becoming a destination town for all of Monmouth County to visit.
