@Lyuba Barrington I'm trying to do the same thing, so I'll basically just describe how I'm navigating the territory. 

I think Lockheed Martin still has some presence in Pittsfield though.

I would not recommend investing abroad, unless you have a local presence there.  

I am new to San Angelo, Texas and although there is a decent presence on BP from people in the area there is not a Meetup.  

US property may only be exchanged for other US property and a very few exceptions of territories that include the USVI, Guam, and American Samoa (but not Puerto Rico).

FEMA actually needs to visibly verify the presence of the flooded appliances to give you credit for it. 

Maybe an LLC where you are both members.When you get to more than a few people investing, you enter syndication territory, which is very complicated (and expensive).
